Kessen II is a really inspiring & unique game.

At first I thought that the Kessen II is the same as the Dynasty Warriors game, but after playing it realised that it is totally a different settings of gameplay. Different from Dynasty Warrior is that you control 1 warrior & the rest support, in this one you are like the King or Warlord that gives command to your whole army to forward, retreat or setup plot & tactics. In this game, you get to control all the captains & warrior you assign to the battle ground. Moreover, you could switch between different parties to give certain command such as magic or recover to maintain the fight.

In this game, you could more or less set ambush & use tactics like the ancient days to win the battle. You could similarly like in the warring period, set you forward party to attract the enemy back to the ambush & attach them at all corners. It is a real facinating game for those interested in the Sun Tse Art of Wars & Romance of the Three Kingdom history.

If you're a big fan of RTKs you must definitely get this game, or if you are new to RTKs you will also find this game enjoyable. Although the story part which it sets that Liu Bei & Diao Chan is in love is a total absurd & does not reflect the history at all.
