A game with a great concept, but plagued with bad gameplay and graphics. A non-biased review of Kane & Lynch: Dead Men.

I have played this at my friend's house. I've gotta say I was pretty psyched. Developed by the makers of the amazing Freedom Fighters, and Hitman. I was expecting a great stealthy/action shooter, but I couldn't be more wrong. The game is one of the worst shooters I have ever played. I was hoping to come back from my friend's house happy. I couldn't be more wrong. First of all, the game's textures looks pretty bad. I could sometimes see individual pixels, something I haven't seen in almost 2 years! The lighting, was actually something that I liked, but is only good in some parts of the game, like close-ups on Kane or Lynch's face. The sound effects are ok. Nothing great, but nothing horrible. The dialogue, however, is just bad. So bad, I played the game with the sound off. Almost every word was a curse word. It was either F*** this, F*** that, or just plain F*** you. Not that swearing in games is bad, but should be used in moderation like in Grand Theft Auto. The gameplay is pretty bad. Trying to do something, like stick to the wall, is a task in itself. You have to fiddle around with the controls. The story is also pretty bad, and quite cliché. You play as Kane, trying to retrieve 2 suitcases for the 7 (a group Kane "betrayed") or else your family dies. Lynch is your "sidekick." I haven't played much of the game (and probably never will), so I can't tell you that much. I tried the multiplayer, in hope to find something good in the game. The concept for the multiplayer portion of the game sounds amazing. You play either as a cop, or a robber. The robbers try to steal as much money as possible, and to escape in a getaway car. The police are trying to kill robbers. When a robber dies, he/she become a police officer. The twist in this is that a robber could kill other robbers to get more money, but they are labeled as traitor, therefore an easier target. Sounds pretty cool, but the awful controls keep this from being an enjoyable experience.

Overall, this game just plain sucks. The graphics, gameplay, and sound are bad. This game has a great concept, but all the game mechanics suck. Simple, stay away from this game.
