So here's the weird part: the graphics are limited, the view from inside the car looks like a child drew it (compared to even older driving / racing sims) and the characters are just horrible caricatures. The game is repetitive, and the tracks are simple. The racing is even worse, it's completely impossible damage is forgiven and collision detection makes the car feel way wider than it is.
But it's an arcade game at heart, which makes it kinda fun. So it's a guilty pleasure. And it has upped my game in the legit games like Grid, DiRT, GTR, etc. I like the editor, the challenges to upgrade the cars, the prototype challenges, and the drifting (drifting has been the most challenging learning curve of the game) I've even enjoyed winning the pink slip challenges and the paint shop.
So I play it because it's fun and for the practice.
