I really don't understand why professional reviewers gave this one 5.5. I mean, yeah sure, is not like any other fancier/fashion hot games around here, but I found it surprisingly good. And why? Let me try to explain it:
1 – Good graphics – 8.5 in 10
2 – Music – 7 in 10
3 – Sound effects – 9 in 10
4 – Story – 7 in 10 (so far, so good)

This was just to say that technically is quite fine.
I must confess that the main reason that made buy this game was Pandora. Yes, that planet's environment is really cool! At least in the movie! And in the game too! Imagine that!

The game also transmits that idea of a luxurious and beautiful planet. When, in the beginning, we start with a human, every time that we get out of a human complex, we are given hard fighting by the environment. I did felt not to be part of that dangerous and strange world. The game transmits that. Every single square meter of that planet is hostile to humans.

(Spoiler alert may happen next, be warned)

After we get into the Avatar, Pandora seems more friendly and less hostile, but yet I still did not felt that my avatar was part of that world. It was just a mercenary in a expensive killing machine. And then came the time to make a stand…

Decide if I was going to help the Na'vi to fight the evasion or the help human's greed and need for carnage. And I did not hesitate one second… I've opted for the Na'vi, and that felt really good! Even so, the world of the Na'vi was not nice. They did not recognized my avatar like one of them and gave me a hard path to walk, before they could trust me. But it was worth it! After ridding a Pa'li (direhorse), a Ikran (banshee), and a Palulukan (Thanator), the meaning of playing that game was made clear to me! Help the Na'vi to protect Eywa and the ecosystem of Pandora.

Yes, it may seem a little strange to talk like that, but is not what most people wanted to do when saw the movie?
Anyway, the game is really cool and rewarding, when we pass the initial phase of the game. It feels odd and strange in the beginning, even the controls seems strange. But it's only in the beginning and for me is part of the feeling that the creators wanted to pass to the player.

After playing some time I rarely miss a shot with my bow, and I do feel capable of destroying anything that are human controlled. Better than that, I did felt in a guerrilla war , where my character is the most fitting to help fighting it. Is not like that the other Na'vi are not capable of doing it, but even so the idea I get is that my avatar has the edge because he knows how humans are and how they fight.

And so, I came to the phase of my review where I question: Did the professional reviewers played the same game that I did? Did they even bothered to forget how bad the movie adaptations to game are, and try to see if the one is a exception? Come on! 5.5 is ridiculous!

8.0 would be more appropriate for me! For every player around, don't care about the reviewers, if you really liked the movie, if you really liked Pandora, try the game, and don't quit even if the controlling of your avatar seems strange. It's just a matter of time before you can erase from the face Pandora 10 humans and their machines just with Na'vi's crafted weapons!

P.S.: I've just notice that IGN gave 6.8 out of 10. I'm sorry Gamespot but I will move to IGN. This is not the first time that I'm completely disappointed by your reviews... Saboteur is another good example of that. I'm starting to believe that Gamespot have a monetary motivation by giving this bad reviews to same games... And that is just LAME…
