Not as fun as the arcade game.

When I purchased this game, I thought I'd be getting something similar to the arcade game at Disney world. Turns out to be nothing of the sort.

In the arcade game, the goal is to drive around African plains in a safari jeep, capture animals, and send them to a research lab before releasing them back to the plains. Very fun, and I enjoy the arcade game very much.

In the Wii game, it's the same idea, but with several new 'features'. Instead of starting on the field, you start in front of a series of buildings. You later find out that these are the research labs, your house, etc. While in your house, you can change several things, such as your clothes and your hair.

You then have the option to go out into the plains. Once you're out there, the game play is similar, but the controls are... well, sort of silly. In order to catch an animal, you must drive up behind them, then catch them with a rope by swinging the Wii remote above your head in a cowboy-like fashion. 'Nuff said?

But wait, there's more! After you've caught your animal, you then go back to the research center with it, clean it, feed it, pet it, and name it, then let it go. The experience can be comparable to the children's veterinarian games found on the PC.

The game can still be fun, and younger kids (as in 12 and under) will probably enjoy it. I recommend either renting it to try it first, or waiting until it gets to the bargain bin to buy it.
