I can't believe Jeff didn't even mention the wall-walking, nor the bloodlust challenge that makes fighting amidst a crowd a traditional 1-on-1 affair with no one else other than the one you've either challenged or accepted the challenge from being able deal and exchange blows. He should be fired seriously... Jeff bashing aside simply put this is a love hate you'll either love it or you'll hate it there is no in between. Fence sitting is not allowed. Draw your own conclusions based on my brief review. Then if you're still undecided watch some of my game play videos, go out and rent the game. Yes its a highly recommended rent at the very least. The demo was great too. You can play online or off. The game is pretty deep with regards to the super-moves requiring you to battle and or be injured in order to build up your chi. There is no story there is no feeling of accomplishment in the traditional sense. Instead the best you can hope for is that you can master the controls required to use each and every weapon to the fullest and survive long enough to win. Again there are no hidden treasures in this game. Its more an intangible feeling you get from realizing that you can wall-walk or you just managed to barely survive being pummeled to death so close that you could hear your in game avatar's heart beat. There's no one thing this game does exceedingly well. Actually its quite mediocre from a graphic standpoint but you know what it has a heart that is undeniable and will continue to attract newer gamers as time goes on. There simply is not another game like this. Last I checked you can't wall-walk to your hearts content in Street Fighter nor can you in Dead or Alive and when you're trapped in a corner in those games you don't really have much in the way of a choice as to how to fight your way out yet in Iron Phoenix? You can toss darts, grab a hold of the wall and attack from it, achieve spiritual enlightenment (energized mode) and plow right through them, use chi based attacks, and relics. Since this was an xbox game if it were bc'd for the 360? Some achievement points would be nice.
