Its safe to say that this is absolutely one of the worst games I've ever played.

User Rating: 2 | INXS: Make My Video SCD
The early 90s Sega had dominance in the home console market, the Mega Drive or known as the Genesis in the North America (due to copyright issues) sat up on top as number one. However Sega's holiday would never last, as the new competition was brewing very quickly, Nintendo's Super Nintendo and Atari's Jaguar would pose as threats. Sega decided the only way to keep the Mega Drive current was with the release of a CD add on, dubbed Mega CD. Launched first in 1992, then making its way to other markets over the next year, with the add on known as the Sega CD in some markets. Sega decided that the best way to showcase the extra storage space of disc based media over cartridges, decided that there game library should use FMW (Full Motion Video).

One of the first of these games was INXS Make My Video, sporting the name of one of Australia's greatest bands, with three songs from the band featured in the game, only three unfortunately. The premise of the game is you a man who is a bar, and has been given the challenge by two girls to make an INXS music video. If the player chooses not to select any options on the menu, the player can watch live-action scenes featuring the two girls playing billiard, and with men endlessly swinging pick up lines. The acting in the game is dreadful and the same can be said about the dialogue. Not selecting an option after ten minutes will reveal a hidden scene where the girls suggesting that you are masturbating. The player will answer with the question "Were the developers crazy?" Quality of the video is lousy, however it's not the result of bad programming, however the limitations of the Mega Drive's colour palette and processor. But then again there were other games on the Mega CD had better video quality then this game.

The game play is nothing of what you would expect from a video game. Players choose from three INXS songs, with the music video of the song streaming, players can select various options in which to edit the presentation of the music video as it streams. Its nearly impossible to make out the music videos since there resolution is so smal. Your work is then judged by the two nasty girls, and if your work is acceptable, you'll be tortured with another bad example of acting. Players will barely find interest in such a game concept, and for those who play it, won't return after one sitting. It's safe to say that INXS Make My Video was no mistake the worst game produced for Sega's add on and joins the list of worst games ever made. Although this didn't stop Sega from producing a whole series of Make My Video games. Avoid this game at all costs, and proof of the game's failure can be seen with the massive amount of unsold copies given away free with Mega CDs. Perhaps a bad move by Sega, since consumers may have view the Mega CD HAD no potential to offer a decent library of titles after playing this free sample.
