This is probably the worst video game based on anime/manga I had ever played.

User Rating: 5 | Inuyasha: Ougi Ranbu PS2
When I first played it, I thought it was decent at first, but now, it got meh. And I'll tell you why, but first I'll talk about a little bit of the positive side since there aren't that many things good about the game. Even though it's not gonna be that much I can talk about on this review.

First off, the character models and the visuals looks pretty good. Especially the sound imo. And that's about it.

Now moving onto the negative side. There are so many things that made me do not care about the game that much to the point I'd stopped playing it.

Okay, the game suffers for the lack of Story Mode because it was pretty short and there's only four for each characters.

The roster feels somewhat short because there aren't that many characters. A few characters that I know like Yura, Hiten, Suikotsu, and most of the other characters should've be in the game.

The gameplay was fun at first, but sadly it gotten boring so fast. Mainly because of the simple controls and most of the characters I've played are horribly unbalanced. Not to mention you can barely perform a decent attacks with a character like Kagura for example. Plus the problem is that seeing the characters doing their Special move attacks gets tedious after a while.

And lastly, I'll talk about Mission Mode. Mission Mode is a mode where you can do 50 missions with three levels and different conditions. And I had to be honest with you, I didn't really enjoy it because there's a few missions that ticked me off so badly. Like the level 3 mission at Manor Ruins where you had to protect your partner who is near death. Which is really annoying because I had to retry so many times on that mission. Same thing that goes for the last mission where you face Naraku who teleports constantly and performing cheap moves like the poison mists and summoning flying bugs. However, it doesn't change the fact of how unbalanced the game is. Especially after all that hard work in Mission Mode, I even managed to unlocked the "Challenging" difficulty after beating the game mode three times with different characters. So yeah I'd pretty much been through freaking heck. But jeez, it just so ridiculous that I had to put through such frustration in that game mode though.

Overall, this is not a very good game imo. Even though I do know its pretty old and all, but I'll say your best bet is to rent it before buying it. However, if you're a fan of the series, you probably will like it. But some you're probably would not like it. If you're not a fan of the series like myself, you're not gonna like it as well because it's not worth it. For me, I'm very glad that I didn't waste my money on a full price at the time though lol. Other than that, the game gets an 5.0 out of 10.
