User Rating: 8.4 | Indigo Prophecy XBOX
My first look at Indigo Prophecy had me skeptical, I thought it was going to be just another 3rd person action game based in NY. That was back when it was called Farenheit. However when I played the demo of this game I was instantly consumed.

Gameplay: This is the most innovative title of 2005. There are no guns, no jump button, no action button. Just the analog sticks and, and the run button. The controls for Indigo Prophecy are intuitive, and smooth as butter. The analog sticks control just about every action there is in the game. The story is deep and very complex, some might love the idea, others might scoff at it calling it a rip-off or other prejudgemental names. All I know is that it's good, very good. Lucas Kane has some of the most badass moves that put Neo to shame. I cannot stress the innovation that this game gives you, it's so unique, I truly have never seen anything like it.

Graphics: The graphics aren't the best this generation has to offer, but it's good enough to make the world feel alive. Character models are beautifully animated, and the facial expressions show true passion, and emotion for the situation. For some reason the pistols wielded by the police look really strange. Also the meager FPS element feels strange as well. The last time I checked you didn't slap the bottom of a 9mm pistol to reload it. All in all the graphics really are average, but they're put to good use throughout the entire game.

Audio: The voice acting is done very well. Each person through the game will always have something to say to you. The good thing is, none of the characters sound dead inside. They all sound like they're really involved in something they cannot explain. The music is surrounding and pulls you in even farther in the game.

Overall: Indigo Prophecy is probably 2005's greatest overlooked game. With an excellent story, amazing innovating controls, and non-linear gameplay really make this title worth your 50....wait...make that 40 dollars. That's another good thing, the price tag. I.P. may not have the best graphics but it sure as hell has a great control system. This game is for people looking for something new in the gaming world.
