A very intruiging title, that really moved me in more ways than i ever expected it would

I can never be quite sure what originally brought me to playing this game. It probably was due to the close relationship Squaresoft and Enix had at the time, which naturally made me keen on Enix titles as well.

Suffice to say I found the game ultimately intriguing, integrating historical civilizations from the Mayans and Aztecs into the fabric of the games reality intrigued me at first, but bowled me over when I found out the meaning behind it all, which I won’t spoil for the reader.

The story was interesting though, something you didn’t pay a whole lot of mind to at first, but it grows to a greater epic proportion than you ever though it could.

The gameplay is pretty good, not amazing as some other games, but it made the game fun and enjoyable, if at least so I could unravel more of the story.

The graphics were also pretty good, again not revolutionary, but definitely nothing to spit at.

The music was a little better, creating a good atmosphere and helping the overall mood of the game.

One thing that stuck with me all these years about the game is the end, which I obviously will not elaborate on too much, only to say that I found it very moving, both happy and sad at the same time, I couldn't get over how amazed I was to see what I saw.

They make great stories like this today, but generally they don’t sneak up on you like this game did, and sometimes being snuck up on can be a fun surprise!
