IL2 1946 is not an add on or a sequal for the populer IL2 series it is infact a complation of all the IL2 games and addons to date that i am awaae of including the spin off Pacific Fighters. This game is massave it spans about 250 Missons and has about 60+aircraft to get to grips with the flight models on each are perfect and it really captures the spirit of air combat in world war two. The game is not softcore in the slightest and is a labour of love by the develipor. even though the game is old it still looks amazing .The fliget moddels are all difrent and each one has it's own persnalty and is acurate to the last unlike the CFS series if you stall thats it you can try and restart but oftan that fails and you need to eater bring it down on it's belly or bail if you bail your chute can be shot and you then plummit to your death and it's game over.for such an old game the communaty is frendly and pritty active once you get bord of the stock missins you can downlode one of the mods online with more being made all the time.this game is hardcore and can take a while to get to grips with but if you persver you will end up with a very rewarding flight sim that just keep on giving.
