Ever since Ikaruga’s liberation, I was continuously attempting to stumble upon this title. Once I finally acquired this title, I concluded that it was worth the wait and played it for hours on end. It is the best pick-me-up game to date. There are no loading times and right from the get go you are in the action. The game consists of 5 Levels that are all different and drastically prove more intricate as the game progresses. The game runs on a simple set-up and is great for old-and new-school gamers. It isn’t just your normal space-shooter since you have the ability to spontaneously change the colour of your Fighter Plane by pressing the A button. While in one of the two colours, you are able to absorb bullets of the parallel colour and while attacking enemies of the opposite colour you conduct double the damage. The game has a wide array of different modes to keep you entertained for quite sometime including: Normal Game, Practice, Conquest, Challenge, Prototype and it includes a Tutorial that demonstrates/teaches you the basics of Ikaruga. After finishing Ikaruga, there is no way you would want to trade it in as that is the chief reason it is so rare in North America. You are always continuously trying to redefine your skills and attempting to create longer chains. If you are lucky enough to still find this game on store shelves, do not deny your inner gamer. Simply pick up the game and play it.
