Hollow Knight

Hollow Knight is a masterpiece. Hollow Knight is mysterious and fun and keeps the player engaged throughout every corner. You're placed in this unknown world with little to no advice as to where to go. A 2D side scrolling game in the same vein as Castlevania: SOTN and Metroid. The world is very lonely, dark and atmospheric. As you descend to the depths and begin your exploration, you meet other characters spread throughout that offer hints on where to go next, sell you maps and other various upgrades. Fighting enemies is fun, you have a sharp sword and enemies range from weak to strong, small to big, flying to dwelling, all which require more thought and special abilities. Tons of hidden secrets through out the world i.e. walls that you can break, places you can't see that you can climb to, ect. some areas are initially blocked off and you have to figure out how to get to the new areas. As you progress you gain more skills which allows you to reach different areas. Boss battles add a lot of fun to the action in the game and there are a few optional boss battles as well. All the enemies you fight drop souls and coins. Souls can be used to instantly heal you or use special attacks. Coins can be used at stores to buy trinkets, map upgrades and various other gear and equipment. The world itself is fun to explore, whether you're going up down left or right you never know what is around the next corner. Hollow Knight is amazing because there are so many little details around the maps that just draw you in. What a masterpiece!!!
