The first game to truly show the true potential of the SIXAXIS controller.

Since time began, on September 17, 2007, the PLAYSTATION 3 controller known as the SIXAXIS has had very little going for it, while a much more known motion sensing 'Wiimote' has met with very much success. Those times are about to change.

High Velocity Bowling is the first game to truly use the SIXAXIS' potential. By merely gripping the center of the controller and tilting your hand you can move your character and aim, then with a little flick of your wrist (or if you like, the full bowling motion) the ball is away.
It may sound easy and you would be right, it is. After just a few frames the motions become quite natural and easy to pull off. If you like you can even get a bit tricky and apply spin with the R2/L2shoulder buttons, its up to you whether to use this or not though.

High Velocity Bowling to this date is likely my most surprising game that I have EVER played. Having low expectations with SIXAXIS control, HVB by far surpassed any expectations I would have ever dreamed of.

Got tired of just bowling? Ok, try some trick shots. Shoot your ball over ramps, through chairs or even around cones and try to knock down the pins. Have fun!

There are a few things holding this game back however, the first and most important to me is no online play. Leader boards are ok, but what we really need is online matches. The second would be no character creation, this isn't a huge deal but often in games like this everybody tends to use the best bowler and best ball, no customizations, no uniqueness. I understand its unfeasible to add this in a small budgeted game, so I suppose this one can fly.

If you looking for a cheap (< $10) game, something that makes excellent use of the SIXAXIS or just a fun general party game; Give High Velocity Bowling a look. You won't regret it!
