Still hasnt been beat to this day.
Basically its WW2 and you have a roster of like 20 commandos to take with you, 4 at a time.
Each one has different skills in Strength, Stamina, Stealth, lock picking, medical, shooting.
Each of these stats increase the more you use them. Shoot alot of bad guys your shooting goes up. Run with heavy equipment till your out of breath and your stamina and str go up. So chances are you want to keep the 4 commandos the whole game and not rotate.
You can choose your load out, clothes, weapons, ammo. The more you carry the slower you are and the more noise you make. So you can load up your strong machinegunner but keep your infaltrator light.
The game is quit realistic, but you can use medi pacs to heal yourself. But movement time and animation is realistic. So it takes a brief second to raise your gun in the ready position. Also if your commando dies, he is dead the whole game.
Missions can be carried out in numerous ways. Guns blazing, stealth, steal a captured enemies uniform and sneak in, or a mix of all of them.
You can use a command map to place soldiers in certain postitions and give them how to move and how to react. Meaning you can setup sniper or mg postitions.
One time i tried to infiltrate in a disguise and i got caught, as i was heading up a ladder some guy spotted me and pulled his gun on me, as he was about to pull the trigger my sniper from half way across the map took him out. No this aint scripted. Another moment is in multiplayer i was in a good position behind rubble and a sniper shot me in the head, my helmet took the bullet and went flying, i ran over to it, picked it up and put it back on my head for protection. Ya you can do that.
This game needs a sequel.
