A familiar hack'n'slash gameplay with a unique skill-acquiring method.

This is one of those budget titles that capitalises on the popular Diablo II style hack'n'slash formula with a unique twist in the way you upgrade your character. But firstly, the story touches on religion, albeit in an ancient way, and it ain't that interesting, the graphics are dated, the sound and dialogue cheesy, so, on with the gameplay.

Actually, even as rip-off as it sounds, it does have an engaging feature which is the "attunements" mentioned in the game that act as your skills. The fun part is in unlocking them through the use of weapons, armor and accessories you find as you battle and loot. Only by engaging in combat with these items equipped can you slowly unlock them and utilise their special abilities to improve your combat prowess to fight more powerful monsters. There goes the inevitable cycle of fighting and treasure hunting which makes the principles of hack'n'slash shine in the first place.

So in the end, as mundane as the quests can be, I still manage to enjoy completing the game driven solely by the excitement of unlocking all the attunements the game has to offer.
