Hellgate London/Global- Oh, suki suki naw!

User Rating: 9 | Hellgate: London PC
I'm really not much of an MMO RPG player, however, Hellgate Global is pretty effing sweet. I had just gotten into PC gaming, and I didn't really wanna lull into Diablo, and my CPU can't run Fallout3- but thankfully, there is Hellgate London/Global as a medium.

I'm so drawn to Hellgate London/Global, not just because of the action (and believe, there is some mindless action going on), but the imagination gone into making some of the monsters/costumes and outfits.

I still play Hellgate London because my CPU runs it way smoother than Global, but I hop on Global to play with my bf, and it's pretty sweet. It's already addicting to gather all of the items, weapons and outfits in London, but to be able to have a live, active marketplace, like on Global, is pretty sweet! It makes it even more addicting to adventure, pillage, and sell!

The storyline is as one would expect- Gates to Hell have popped up everywhere, and there is a clear Light vs. Dark war going on now. No matter which class you choose, you're gonna be fighting against Hell's cretins. Expect to be running around, killing creatures for bounty (or for a body part to to turn in for bounty), as well as exploring areas for unknown reasons. I mean, you can read the adventure texts if'n you want, but trust ol' Boogie Love, it's gonna be the same thing. It's not necessarily a bad thing, as I could tell going into this that this game was clearly not trying to bring any kind of hefty, heartfelt story to you (as in Fallout3). I understand the patience of some people out there, and if you're not into games that don't really involve you (like making choices, etc), this is SO not for you.

HOWEVER- if you love pillaging, raiding, slaying, and killing all things Hell, this is the game for you. From the fashions to the flayings, this game is something to be played. And do yourself a favor- log onto Hellgate Global (if your CPU can run London, it'll do Global). The devil's in the details, and I feel the developers have made a highly addicting game based on it's own merrit, not it's intriguing storyline or memorable characters (although, I must say, the little avatar I have in BOTH games are pretty memorable to me- strong black women! Heyyy!)

I REALLY hope this review was helpful to you, as I tried to give you the real umph.

And what's the real umph- Great outfits, lots of killing, awesome social tradings, TONS of new enemy models (I'm STILL seeing new creature models at lvl 20!) Like Nike- JUST DO IT!
