Prepare to be scared; prepare to experience the nightmare. ^_-
As you maneuver Fiona around the castle grounds you will discover that she is rather physically weak when it comes to defending herself from the many castle enemies that lurk the halls. As you try to escape, you must be prepared to hide, tackle, kick, and run for all your worth from your foes.
The only luck you will really find in this game is the white-German Shepherd that you will have the luck of rescuing at the beginning of the game. If you are kind to Hewie, and praise him often you can eventually train him to attack your enemies, distract them while you run away, and protect you from any danger that threatens you.
Hewie won't always be able to protect you though. If Fiona gets extremely scared over a certain amount of time by being attacked, or frightened by objects that can occur in the game, she will end up in Panic Mode. Once in this, you can't give her objects to calm her down, your vision will blur and will not be able to see very well, and if you fall, you are pretty much a goner.
Panic Mode is your very last chance for survival before death takes you, so you better try and prevent it at all cause.
There is no sound, only you and the eerie effects the castle will bring upon you. The game-play, as you can see is extremely realistic, and will bring another word to horror. So, if you are looking for a change from the usual games I strongly advise you to get yourself a copy of Haunting Ground. ^_-
