Your grandfather Tony has just died so you go and take over his farm. But once you get there you find out that some developers want to build a amusement park in the town's place. So now you got to help the town's folk out and save there homeland. The best thing about this is that there are nine different endings to the game. So when you beat one ending you want to start over so you can finish the other endings. And yes when you finish a ending it ask if you want to start over but you get to keep all your money you had and food and animals.
As far as animals goes you can have five cow's and six chickens one horse and one dog. You don't have a dog when you first start off you got to feed it then catch it first. You plant corn, tomato's, potato's and few other things. And a few other one's but the corn earns you the most money. You can buy and extension on your house that is a kitchen so you can cook food you to eat are give as gifts and you can sell some stuff.
The difference between this game and the others in the series is that they take some of the stuff out that people really liked. When you arrive on your farm it's clean so you don't have to clean it anymore so you don't have a ax or a hammer. You can't get married so they ain't no reason to keep giving girls gifts unless you just want to make friends and with that you can't have kid's.
And the biggest thing to me that they took out that I wish they didn't is the festival's. There ain't no mayor in the town so there for there aren't festival's. Which is one thing I really like about the harvest moon series. But even though they took all that stuff out doesn't make this a bad game. This game is basically just as fun as the other's and just as addicting.
Most fan's that have played Harvest Moon over the years more than likely ain't going to like Save the Homeland as much. But first time players will love this game and will thank it's the best. It's defiantly one that you don't want to miss out on. So if you ain't got it go pick you up a copy of it.
