Over-joyed! But my joy turned to sadness and disappointment.
I played as the girl and the character doesn't look appealing at all. The other female characters look better! Another thing about the charcters... Carter from the church looks evil. His eyes are just black holes. Really creepy if you ask me. And the lead female character looks angry.
Anyways... Despite this and the fact that the game is so slow when doing things (picking up stuff, going to the next screen) I tried to get into it. I love HM and I wanted to love this. I just can't do it... I've stopped playing it now. You can't save when ever you want to... Just have to go to bed. I'm interested in progression with other characters but I'm not hooked enough to do it. If you are a HM fan you will probably like this if you can overlook the flaws. For me personally I would just stick to playing it on the GBA. I was just hoping to play something different and playing as a girl had me very excited.
Alas. I now own Rune Factory and I highly suggest it over this. It is way better and animation and movement is fluid. I am really hooked onto this and realised how much I missed my DS! Over and out!

PS: Wait for future HM's to come out on DS. They are looking awesome. Also on the Wii. I can't wait!
