Bungie finished things nicely!

I really have enjoyed the Halo series over the years and every game has been pretty excellent. However, I always look back to the first game as my favorite. Well Halo Reach has come very close to rivalling the first game on my Halo hierarchy. Halo Reach does this with a truly awesome story, great new characters, and classic Halo combat that has been refined to near perfection. Oh, and did I mention this is the best looking Halo game that I have played yet. You play as a Spartan team member. You are the newest team member actually and you are known only as number 6. The covenant have lauched an all out attack and you are in the throws of the desperate final attempt to stop them. For those who are a little behind this game is a prequel to all of the others. The story does a great job of conveying the sense of despair that the covenant attack has created. The scenery, the cut scenes, the dialogue all tell the story to near perfection. Speaking of perfection; the music is awesome as always. I am a sucker for when a game can set the mood with good music and the Halo series rarely dissappoints on that front. The controls are crisp and the gameplay is typical Halo fare. The visuals are really quite excellent especially when you are being treated to some large sweeping vistas. The only complaint I have is that some of the ancillary characters could have used a little more attention to detail. The game also ran very smoothly with nary a hiccup. It was nice to see the continued use of skulls for added content. And the multiplayer is great as always.

Results: You get what is expected; another great Halo experience. Also one of the best told stories in the entire series. Kudos!
