Recycled graphics from previous Halo's, lack of new Idea's, storyline is very dull and hard to follow. 343 Fails.

Looks like the Halo series has finally worn out it's welcome because 343 failed to add anything new to the series. This game just don't feel like a Bungie Halo game. For me, I'm a storyline person first, Graphics 2nd, and then the game play 3rd.

The story line in halo 4 appeared to be interesting at first but it fails to follow through and intrigues your imagination to want to find out what next. I find myself just going through motion instead. There's no surprises in this game like Halo 1 and Reach that got you immerse in the story from the beginning to the end. The story fails to explain why the Covenant are allying with the forerunners, and why the forerunner wants to destroy humanity? And where is Arbiter in all of this, I was expecting him to come in at some point and aid the Master Chief in some form of way? I was also hoping they would land on another Halo ring which didn't happen. One credit I do have to give them is the interaction between Cortana and the Chief through most of the game, was well done.

As far as the graphic goes, everything looks recycled from Halo 3 and the other Halo's. The building structure looks basically the same from the previous game except probably even more plain this time around. I expecting some creative on the forerunner planet like a statue or temple, but nothing in this game indicates that they were some advance ancient alien species for us to marvel about. They did do a great job in missions that involved the Marines which was detailed and nice looking, but failed miserably when it came to the forerunners missions where everything looks plain and dull. It's like seeing nothing but triangles and neon lights everywhere.

The game play was acceptable, but didn't add any new except the part where you get to control a armor robot. There wasn't enough mission where you get to ride the warhog which had been the staple of this series. You also didn't fight along side the Marines as much, maybe 20% of the game. You can't dual wield so the SMG is not available. The forerunner weapons are boring to use which is what you will probably be using 50% of the game, there's hardly any Melee weapons, the Marine Sniper rifle is rarely available, you also don't get the (Halo 2) scope assault rifle until the very end instead you get the one shot scope rifle, while the Covenant weapons remained the same as Reach. They did add two new cool weapons like the Rail gun and Grenade Sticker. I'm also disappointed that they didn't add any new Covenant soldiers to replace the Brute, the Covenant were a less challenging foe this time around. The forerunners on the other hand were a worthy adversary, but not quite creative or as challenging as the flood.

Overall, I thought it was a decent game but they didn't add anything new to the experience. Halo Reach introduced the jetpacks and VTOL's, ODST had the exploration element of New Mombasa, Halo 1 to 3 all added something new. My two main disappointment is the Marine weapon not being available like 70% of the mission, and you not actually playing on a Halo ring. I'm not a multiplayer so this review is based so on the campaign which I feel is the most important part of the game. This game was maybe a good rental.
