Ok I know the tag is a little harsh, but I cannot to this day still understand what possessed me to buy the game. I played it I beat it, felt good for a total 5 minutes, and realized there was nothing else to it. It was basically Halo 3 with soldiers, who cannot dual wield, and basically use all the same weapons. Yeah the game never pits you up against what Master Chief went through in all of his campaigns, but idk I felt like this game was just rushed out to give Xbox another HALO game to talk about. I mean c'mon. The engine is practically identical to Halo 3 and the graphics are touched up slightly. The best part of the game is the cast of actors. Other than that the story doesn't do much for the overall HALO story, and it doesn't bring anything new to the table.
I mean c'mon 60 bucks. I guess I wouldn't be so down on the game if it was a reasonable DLC. But it wasn't it was a stand alone game, and I think people who buy the game deserve that. Yeah they brough back a couple maps . . . brought back . . . and added a new game mode . . . but seriously not worth it. I hope Halo Reach is a serious insertion into the series, it may find itself returned as fast as ODST was.
