Making folks everywhere remember why they bought an extra control pad...

To start, I will be upfront about my lack of enjoyment of the single player mode in the original Halo, I guess I am just not the hype that wants to play through the same sort of level over and over just to say I beat it on Legandary, I really couldn't care. What made Halo a Gem for me was the Multiplayer aspect, and how years after I bought it, it remained a fan favorite when the masses poured into my home on a weekend or weeknight. Halo 2 out of the box was somewhat of a dissapointment and I think most people were, after so much hype what can you say other then what you visoned in your mind is not the same as what you are seeing. I felt that the first hour or so of play was more of the same, Enemies coming through Airlocks, you shoot them bang bang, next area, but then I reached a point that really made me raise an eyebrow and that was the switching between Humans and Covanent as the game moves forward. This was a very unique aspect which really helped me get over any of the Halo 1.5 logic that was going through my mind. It was a new and fresh way to make a classic game seem new again and really helped to spice up what I have always found to be average single player campaigns. Then I was introduced to the Multiplayer, and the X-Box live support and that in itself justified my purchase, all be it the interface on Live is quite awkward I have a fairly large friends list which I have compiled since Live began and I don't have as many issues as alot of the other newer live users have, but interface aside the game online is almost seamless, No LAG, the loadtime was minimal and the gameplay flowed. Adding so new vehicles and giving you the ability to steal them in mid-use is also an awesome new twist one that has entertained me to almost no end in the heat of combat. The level design in really interesting, Its a nice change because the various heights the player is offered to engage in combat into will pretty well assure that everytime you play it the game will be a little bit different. The Graphics are better then the original very much cleaned up some of the generic look of soldiers, overall very nicely done, another title that puts alot of time and energy into detail which really did pay off. The Soundtrack is a cool blend of Classical/Techno which really works for the enviroment. Overall this game is really a no brainer, if you own an X-Box you should pick up a copy of Halo 2, If just for the multiplayer aspect of the game. -Z
