It's very refreshing to find a good 8 bit game among so many "modern-looking" games.

Half-minute hero is a rpg that puts you in the skin of a hero that has only 30 seconds to save the world from pure evil lords while you have to gain some exp. levels along the way from fighting other enemies.

Does the time seems too scarce? Well that's not exactly the entire time that it is given to you... You meet a time goddess who offers to rewind time, giving you half more minute in exchange for gold coins every time you pray at one of her statues placed in a village. Even though you are given more time it will still reset to 30 seconds tops, never letting the feeling of emergency fade away.

The quests themselves are always very linear: You travel to a location where you can meet villagers who can provide you with some equipment, help and information on how to get to or defeat an evil lord. Once you have defeated the lord you must move on to another area or you're given the choice to improve your score in that particular map.

The good:

- Having only 30 seconds to save the world fills you with an adrenaline rush.
- Fast paced, yet you're given time to catch your breath in some specific locations.
-The soundtrack is very good.

The bad:

- The quests are all very linear and feel like you're doing the exact same thing over and over again.

Overall, it is an unique good fast-paced game which will give you a lot of fun for a while.
