Half-life 2 came out in late 2004, and was the sequel to the original best selling PC game, Half-life. There's a lot to be said about the 2nd installment on the half-life series, and there is no doubt that Valve took years in it's development. The game features a completely Open-source game and graphics engine, and could be tweaked in millions of different ways, making it the most modded game that has released to date. The Kick-ass singleplayer campaign kept people compelled for years, and even today it's still being bought on steam by thousands of people. If it was before your time, you may fail to appreciate just what it has contributed to Video games, as well as represent what video games no longer possess. Half-life 2 opened an entirely new style of graphics, and game-play with its advanced Havok physics engine, that still to this day is used in many first person shooters. The graphics aren't as good today as it were almost 9 years ago, but it still holds up surprisingly for a game that came out in the early 2000s. Half-life 2 marked the beginning and end of the Prestige Era for PC games, and without a doubt has been one of the most ground-shaking video games that has ever been released, whether you've heard of it, or not!! It's on steam for just a few dollars, it'll be worth your time!!!
