The anime-style fighter returns on PSP, looking to take on Tekken and Street Fighter for best PSP fighter.

User Rating: 8.1 | Guilty Gear Judgment PSP
Guilty Gear has a long history, and not a bad one either. The PSP is GG's new port. Judgment packs two games in one; the actual Judgment and X #reload, a port of GGX.

In Judgment, the series is no longer a 2D fighter, but a side scroller that pits you against a horde of Gears, dragon-esque creatures bent on your death. The battles get repeatative as you hack n' slash your way through the monsters (with a bit of platforming mixed in). If you're not a fan of GG, you will have no idea who is who or what is going on, which may or may not justify the fun you have as you progress through each character's story.

The other half of the game is GG X # reload. Reload is basically GGX with better, more up-to-date features. You can pick from any of 23 characters and pit them against each other in an arcade match, a Medal of Millionare match (a la Super Smash Bros. Melee's coin battles), or a survival mode.

The controls are a bit clumsy, making it hard to launch your good attacks, but they aren't really necessary to beat any mode. The graphics are slick and anime-style.

The GG series has been enjoyed for years, and the newest installment on PSP is no reason to stop now.
