Guild Wars, the game that changed MMORPGS.

The first thing you notice when you play Guild Wars, is the great graphics it has (for a 6 year old game). You enter into an amazing lush city named "Ascalon" in the "pre-searing" era. Instantly you are required to take up a quest which directs you to your profession 'master' which guides you to become adept at your profession.

Guild Wars introduces the skills slowly but surely at the start of the game, to make sure you grasp a hold of their uses, and the basic combat forces of the game. The skills are limited to having 8 equipped at one time, preventing the need for half the screen to be covered in icons. This encourages the need to find good builds, and instead of having the best gear, best skills, you need to have the best skill.

In Guild Wars, there are no non-combat skills to be performed (to be introduced to Guild Wars 2), which is a let down. So there is no grabbing the materials and heading to a work bench and getting to work, instead, you grab the materials, some money, and head off to a armour merchant, a weapon merchant, whatever merchant you need.

Guild Wars has a great community and most people are willing to help you along your way. The community is helped by the Guild feature, which allows you to group together with fellow players, in a dedicated group which you can constantly chat to, or do some PvP Guild vs. Guild.
Each Guild has a Guild Hall, in which they can place merchants to help their guild members along, these guild merchants grant certain bonuses compared to normal merchants that are in towns.

The PvP in Guild Wars is easy to grasp and a joy to play, whether you play random arena, (random people joined together), team arena (people who choose to group together), alliance battles, (Kurzick vs. Luxon, Guilds choose their allegiance), or long Guild Battles, these PvP options makes sure that all players enjoy a bit of PvP.

The Storyline of Guild Wars is great, whether your playing Prophieces (the original), Factions, or Nightfall, you quickly get a grasp onto what is happening in the world.

All in all, this is a great game to play and I definitely recommend people who enjoy, RPG's, MMO's, or MMORPG's to give this game a decent try, and who knows, you may find it's suited just for you!
