Frustrating game offers some fun moments.

User Rating: 6.5 | Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters X360
Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters is slightly above average. The game can offer bits of fun, but are hacked away with frustrating technical difficulties.

The game's pretty easy, but technical problems are always souring out the expierience. For instance, one moment I was fighting off manhunters, and I had to pass through this door. Funny thing is, the door wouldn't open. So I had to start the entire mission all over again, and the door finally opened. WTH?! The game also has freezing issues that mostly occur when the game is loading. The game froze on me about 12 times.

There is also a noticable lag during QTE and creating a construct. Sometimes it will take too long for Hal or Sinestro to do anything and then you will take damage.

The camera can have some issues too. You get no camera control, but most of the time it can give you a good view of the action, but in some cases like in co-op and especially in boss battles, the camera can spin all over the place and clip through the environment. It gets nauseating and very annoying, when you just want to focus on destroying that one big manhunter.

But the game is not all that bad. The gameplay is mostly responsive, and one of the best parts is making all of those cool constructs. Gatling guns, hover mines, missle launchers, mech suits and you can even hurl a jet at a group of enemies.

The graphics are actually very well done. Ryan Renolds looks like Ryan Renolds, but maybe the mouthing animations can use a little work. But you can tell DC is trying.

I had the most fun in the flying missions, even though those where the easiest parts in the game, its still very fun to fly around and shoot everything in sight. And the coolest parts are when you transform in a powerful jet fighter.

Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters is slightly above average, but if you want an even better superhero movie game, get Captain America: Super Soilder. Green Lantern is probably only worth a rental or two, mostly due to the lack of content. Once you beat the campaign, you have to replay all of the missions, but in harder difficulties.
