Great Old School Game

User Rating: 9 | Gray Matter PC
This game took me back to the days when great PC games were slower paced, story type games. Series like King's Quest, Space Quest and Gabriel Knight ruled the roost. This game was in fact written by Jane Jensen, the writer of the Gabriel Knight series. I missed those good Ole days. I enjoyed Jane's older games, so when I saw this one, I had to have it. It did not disappoint. Jane has never been better.

I have seen some critics complain that the puzzles within the game are too easy. They're not that difficult it's true. They are mostly the common sense type, but they make sense within the story and add to the immersive atmosphere. This is an adventure game, not a puzzle game. For me, complex puzzles tossed into an adventure game just just for the sake of having puzzles, ruins the experience and bogs a game down. You do have to use your head, but not to the point of frustration.

The characters are well written. You find yourself caring about them very much, just like a good movie or book. I found that same sense of satisfaction at the end of the game, though I was disappointed that it was over.

If you've never played this type of game before, try it. You might find yourself pleasantly surprised. If you are a fan of the old Sierra classics mentioned above, I can guaranty you will enjoy this game.
