The Xbox version of Gravity Games Bike has no improvements over its PS2 port whatsoever.
Like Mat Hoffman's Pro BMX, Gravity Games puts you in the seat of a professional BMX rider from the Gravity Games, but there are also a few fictional ones as well. The game has several BMX celebrities including Fuzzy Hall, Dennis McCoy, Jamie Bestwick, Leigh Ramsdell, Matt Beringer, Andre Ellison and a few more. There are 11 levels that are both Competition and Objective runs. In objective runs, you can only get 3 minutes at a time. And in competitions, you just get 1:30 in 3 chances to make your way up to the top.
Gravity Games Bike feels like it was developed for the US Sega Dreamcast launch and saved in a time capsule for the PS2 and Xbox. Everything feels sluggish. One of the only modern elements of the game are spelling a word, but even that can be frustrating to work with. I literally did a 1 million point combo. Bikers animate poorly as well. On the back of the box, it is written that there are 5 'insane' game modes. This tagline is a lie. In 2002, Gravity Games Bike's career and free ride modes simply don't cut. There is also a decent soundtrack as well, but that really dosen't improve any of the game.
With an abysmal career mode and the worst animations in a BMX video game, Gravity Games Bike is a smudge on Midway's otherwise solid record and you can almost laugh how awful the whole thing is. If you're a fan of alt. sports gaming, save your money, go buy Amped 3, and absolutely forget Gravity Games Bike.
