Rockstar yet again proves that waiting 5 years for a GTA sequel is worth it.

Hey guys. I know that it's been a while, but to be honest, I forgot about this account. :P But, anyways, I'm back for now, but don't expect me to be here next week haha. So, today, I'm going to be reviewing my now favorite game of all time, "Grand Theft Auto V". To be honest, this is the best game I have ever played, and I've played a loooottt of them. The Grand Theft Auto games have always been one of, if not, my FAVORITE game series. Every game has a new fresh story that always intrigues me. But, anyways, let's get on to the game.

So, first, we should talk about gameplay, and functionality. First off, the controls are extremely fluent. Absolutely smooth. The functionality is also fantastic. I have probably only run into about 1-2 glitches that have inhibited gameplay, and that's over a year's worth of playing it.

The graphics are immaculate as well. The characters and pedestrians are extremely detailed. Buildings have wear and tear, and all of the textures look like they were worked on and tweaked quite a bit before being put into the final cut of the game, because every texture I have seen looked amazing. For blood and gore, there isn't that much, however, it is more violent than GTA IV (GTA: Vice City takes the cake for most violent, imo) but not as violent as Red Dead Redemption. Sweat can be seen beading off of the character if you're character is in hot weather, has been sprinting for a long time, etc. Clothes react with body extremely realistically.

Next, I'm gonna talk about the story/writing. The story in this GTA entry is the most in depth and original than any other GTA entry. It is compelling, and twists are thrown in when you least expect it. Michael's character is developed quite nicely, and you can easily tell what kind of person he is by the way he talks/acts. Same goes for Franklin and Trevor. Every mission has something to do with the story, there may be only about 2-3 filler missions. Every mission is different in it's own way.

There is also a lot of pop culture and feminist references thrown in, which I thought were hilarious. Trevor's dialogue is absolutely hysterical, and had me rolling around in my seat. Absolutely hilarious. If you press the "right" button on the D-Pad, the character can interact with pedestrians. Franklin and Michael say normal greetings the first 2 times you press the right button on the D-Pad to a single person. However, when you press it a third time, they will taunt the ped, resulting in either the ped getting into a fight with you, or running away/calling the cops. Trevor, however, will insult someone every time you do it. Depending on the person, Trevor will have different insults. For example, if the person is fat, he'll make a fat joke. If the person is homeless, he'll make a homeless joke. If the person is gay, he'll make a gay joke. Some of the insults he says go a little overboard on the offensiveness, but that is just Trevor's character overall.

The free roam is pretty much the same as the other GTA entries, however, you can speak to pedestrians.

Ammu-nation is back, and you can buy all different kinds of guns and customize them as well. You can buy cars online, and pick them up in your garage. After, you can completely pimp out your car at the Auto Body shop, and I have to say, the customizations are badass. Different cars drive/handle differently. The handling in this game is 10x better than GTA IV handling, which was near impossible.

There are also a ton of side missions that characters can do. Trevor can hunt, Michael can join a cult, and Franklin can do towing missions for money. However, there are lots of other strangers that you can meet on the streets, and when you go up to them, a side mission will start. You also have to find 50 notes scattered around Los Santos, to solve the murder of some lady. However, it is not required to finish the story.

In conclusion, GTA V doesn't have any flaws in my book. I absolutely love it, and is my favorite game of all time. I would highly recommend this game to anyone.
