If you've never owned a Grand Theft Auto game, this may be the one to own.

User Rating: 9.7 | Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas PS2
If you've ever played any Grand Theft Auto game, you know the basic concept of the game. You run around as some crazy gang banger whom does jobs for different guys, and creates havoc for the people in your immeadiate surroundings. This concept, while violent, is what make the GTA series so fun, and interesting. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas uses this basic formula, and adds just enough new and exciting aspects to keep the Grand Theft Auto series' just as fresh as it always has been. In Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, you will play as CJ, a young man whom has just gotten out of jail. As soon as you come home, you mother is killed, and just as quickly as you turned on your PS2, you are thrust into the street life of the early 90's in California. Specifically, a place called "Los Santos." You will quickly notice the atmosphere of GTA:SA as you start up the game. The game seems to have taken a page or two out of the movie "Boyz N The Hood" and creates a great atmosphere early. You'll notice the Hip Hop music of the early 90's in full effect (everything from Ice Cube, to Snoop Dogg) in this new installment of Grand Theft Auto, along with the ability to ride bikes, hop fences, and even swim. There are also many new additions to the GTA series. You'll notice new meters such as a stamina meter, and muscle meter. The stamina and muscle meters dictate how strong you are and how much energy you have. They can be replenished at the gym. Yes, there is now a gym that you can go to and work out. The gym mainly dictates your ability to run, hop fences, fight, etc. You'll also find many other meters like the food meter, respect meter, firearm meter, vehicle meter, . Most meters seem to be self-explanatory though. Overall, the latest installment of the Grand Theft Auto series' is a great buy. Not a must buy, because for some it may seem or feel like the same game as GTA:VC or GTA3, but a great buy nonethless. If you've never owned/played a Grand Theft Auto game in your life, this is definitly the GTA game you need to pick up.
