I've been playing Grand Theft Auto since it was a 2D game that took up less than 50 mb on your computer, and I must say that they've gone a long way ever since the first one, improving more and more with each one, but they improved A LOT with this one's game engine. The graphics are excellent, the ability to shoot behind cover and such is a wonderful addition, and the free will of the game is great. My computer could only run this on about 20 FPS on a lower resolution though since the game engine is just that much better. This game portrays what life really is like for a hitman. Don't get it confused though, this game is definitely hard for those of us who don't use cheats, controlling helicopters on this was a lot harder than in San Andreas, but all the vehicles have a lot more health which is nice because in San Andreas a few bumps and your car would explode! It's also hard to survive in this game if you don't always have full health and armor, so if you go into a somewhat difficult mission with no armor you'll most likely die, regardless of shooting behind cover if you're in a timed mission. Definitely a turning point in the GTA series, for the good.
