Official Gamespot review is waaaaay off (9.5????)

User Rating: 6.5 | Gone Home PC
Please, please understand, a rating of 9.5 is NOT accurate for this game. First, it's short...an hour, maybe a bit more if you really take your time. Second, yes, there is an interesting story, but frankly it's pretty obvious where they're going with it after the first few minutes of the game. I kept thinking to myself, "This got a 9.5 from a Gamespot reviewer...surely it's going to go somewhere amazing." It does not. Third, it's 20 dollars. Not that that's a lot of money, but it's objectively worth less than 5.

The point is, I really, really could have skipped this one. There's not that much to it at all, and in the end I found it fairly disappointing. How it managed a 9.5 on this site from a reviewer still baffles me. If you have 20 dollars and a couple of hours to waste and you want to take a shot at it, lower your expectations and you may be pleasantly surprised. Otherwise, just take a pass on it.
