The name's Bond... James Bond

User Rating: 10 | GoldenEye 007 N64
When I first played this game back in 2000, I guess, I really had no idea how big it really was. I had no idea what James Bond was (I was like 5 (yes, I played this game when I was 5). Now, the James Bond series is one of my favorite movie series. Before I played this game again, I heard what many gaming sites (Screwattack, here at Gamespot, etc..) have to say about this game. I've played the game and they are right. This is without a doubt one of the greatest first person shooters ever (without a doubt, the best for the Nintendo 64).

The 1995 movie Goldeneye revamped the James Bond series, introducing Pierce Brosnan as the newest James Bond (at the time, of course). The game follows the movie pretty well, with just a few new missions added in. There are also two additional missions following the 'movie' missions which pay tribute to two of James Bond's earlier films; Moonraker and The Man with the Golden Gun. The laser from Moonraker and the Golden Gun are also two unlockable weapons and are two powerful weapons.

This game is just great, no question about it. It is one of the smoothest first person shooters ever. Even though we are now in an age of games like Halo and Call of Duty, they wouldn't be where they are today without this game. You know what, it is still a good looking game even in the year 2010. Hell, they're making a remake of the original game and it looks badass.

The multiplayer version of this game is also one of the positives of the game. Just think Halo, 6 years earlier. If Screwattack puts this game on multiple Top 10 lists, it must be good.
