God Of War 1 and 2 blew me away, and this is one did the same. It is by far one of the best PS3 games out there

User Rating: 10 | God of War III PS3
Story 10/10

God of War III picks up immediately where God of War II ended, with Kratos riding on Gaia as she and the other Titans climb Mount Olympus to assault the gods. Atop the mountain, Hermes, Poseidon, Hades, and Helios mount a defensive against the Titans. After defeating and killing Poseidon, Kratos and Gaia reach Zeus, only to be knocked off Mt. Olympus by Zeus' lightning bolt. As Gaia tries to climb back up, Kratos begins to slip off her back. Gaia states that she cannot help him and that the Titans war with the gods is more important than Kratos' revenge. Kratos falls off Gaia as she continues upward. Leaving you at the very bottom of Hades. From here you have lost your strength and are fairly weak. Ready to start fresh and gain your way back to the top of this battle fighting numerous of enemies, killing them through the good old button sequences, powers, attack moves and grappling moves with a set of new weapons, combos and powers. No matter the cost, you will get your vengeance... Or not?

Gameplay 10/10

The combat is just as responsive as ever with big, massive combos that you'll always feel completely in control of. You can cancel out of almost anything and go into a block or roll, making defensive maneuvers a strong part of your arsenal. One subtle tweak this time around is that the old Square-Square-Triangle combo that ends with Kratos whipping down the Blades in a big overhand motion isn't as easily abused as it once was. This is partly due to the fact that you'll find yourself surrounded by more enemies than ever before, requiring that you utilize your area attacks more often, but it's also because enemies can be more aggressive. If you're in their sights, they're probably attacking, which makes the combat a little more balanced between blocking, rolling and attacking; that's great. It's not a huge change, but it's certainly very welcome. The number of enemies onscreen has been increased to 50 unlike previous God of war games. This is where the scale of gore increases!

There are new side items that are useful to use can be the head of Helios used to blind enemies giving you a moment to attack and find hidden objects. Bow of Apollo used to shoot enemies from a distance with flammable bows and Boots of Hermes giving you fast moving speed to flee from battle or rush towards it.

Graphics 10/10.

Here is where your eye's fall out of there sockets for the very first time in your life. God of war III managed to push Playstations graphics to new scales. In game visuals are extremely great as you gore out your enemies cutting there abdominal in half as your Blades of Athena light up the screen. Cut scene visuals even step it up some more as every little detail of Kratos is present, Those buff pecks and six packs are just jaw dropping.

Sound 10/10
There is not much to say here besides that the in game sound effects are great to perfection. The very first sound you even hear as you place the game into your console for the first time is even epic. Once that menu pops up you get a visual of a angry looking Kratos with some intense battle music.
