Two of the greatest PlayStation 2 games on one Blu Ray Disc...what can go wrong? Answer: NOTHING.

User Rating: 9.5 | God of War Collection (Ultimate Combo Pack) PS3
This has been in high anticipation for PlayStation owners excited for God of War III, and a chance for those to know the series before the game's release. Well, people shouldn't be disappointed in why the games were so hyped, and they still are, even now. Despite the fact that I've played (and finished) both games, I am a loyal fan of the series, and that the new tech changes to the game really excited me (trophy support for both games, native 720p resolution, and anti-aliased graphics locked in at 60 frames per second. Which may turn many faces in order to buy this wonderful compilation.

Story: 8 (The story is a story that has been made and emulated, which is said to be the same for this game series, but with somewhat accurate Greek mythology makes this a blast to slash in.)
Graphics: 7.5 (If this was the original PlayStation 2 release, then I would give this a 9, but the graphics are ported to a strong extent, which makes more detail and also showing the age of the original graphics.)
Music: 10 (It feels like the music of the era you're fighting in, which is always great, and the sound still sounds great, if not better than before.)
Control: 7.5 (The controls are the same, but might be confusing, due to the changes in the DualShock 3's redesign from it's predecessor, and also because of the different controls in the games.)
Sound: 9 (The voices still do well and sound terrific)

The story starts off (God of War) with the Spartan warrior named Kratos, and he is sent by the goddess Athena (goddess of war and wisdom) on a quest to defeat the god of war, Ares (god of war), from destroying Athena's city, Athens. But this goal is deemed too difficult for a mere mortal to kill a god, especially with the past transgressions with Kratos and Ares (Later revealed in-game). The story of God of War II sets off shortly (not too shortly) after the original game, and you will know what happens in five minutes of playing. The story is pretty action packed, and makes you want to finish and see the challenge, which is probably one of many reasons people love this series.

The game-play, is the same as it has ever been. Which, unlike most fighting games, has an interesting way of attacks (and pretty brutal attacks at best), which revolves mainly around Kratos' chained blades (Blades of Chaos in the first game, and Blades of Athena in the sequel), and are always cool to simply "swing" at an enemy (swing until they burst out orbs). But the game-play is simple, as Kratos needs to solve several puzzles (many of which are very intelligently created and required to solve in order to progress), and slashing the Spartan's way allover the place in order to make his destination. Also the form of living and being stronger is simple: Green, blue, red and gold (only in God of War II) from chests and fallen enemies, green orbs to heal Kratos, blue to refill his magic meter (on the magic he finds), red to upgrade his weapons and magic, and gold to refill his "Rage of the Titans" meter (an ability to make Kratos temporarily stronger), then there are gorgon eyes (to increase Kratos' health meter) and phoenix feathers (to increase Kratos' magic meter). The game-play, despite the simplicity, is always fun and even engaging to keep slashing your way to the end.

For those who haven't played any of the games, I highly recommend buying this great compilation, and those like me who enjoyed the original two games (and two 'greatest hits'), re-enjoy the games on a current-generation console, and earn a few (actually many, and easy) trophies along the way!
