If you dont mind alot of violence this game is sure to please.
The graphics are second to none on the playstation 2. If you would look at it you would swear you are playing an Xbox game. Comparable to ninja gaiden only the environments are more crazy.
The game is challenging but not impossible. The checkpoint system makes this game less frustrating by saving your progress at important or difficult sections. The dialog is top notch, story is well crafted, and cutscenes must be seen to be belived. There really isnt to much which is negative about this game. The only small beef i have with it is that you have to tend to backtrack a fair amount in the game. Which is sort of annoying for me because I have a horrible sence of direction.
Besides that everything else is excellent. The art style is not realistic, but stylalized and it seems that sony was miticulous about every aspect of the game. From the music, to every polygon of each mountan range. You will never see the same texture twice.
Now to the battle system, this is where God of war also shines. The attacks are all great and varying but probably the best part of the game is the damage you seem to do in the game. Each attack makes you feel like you are doing incredible damage to each of the enemies. The finishing moves are also excelent and give you a feeling of accomplishment after hacking down a particularly difficult opponent. Instead of hacking beasties to bits you rip of there head and throw it across the room. To anyone that likes action games and can handle the violence it is truly an awesome game not to be missed.
