Ghostbusters will always be a classic.

This has been a long time since there was a Ghostbusters game released. The wait is finally over. As a fan of the franchise, I was glad that a new iteration was in development. You might know my scepticism for the games that are based on movies, but this time I am not disappointed.

First, they kept the voices of the original 4 Ghostbusters. So, for the hardcore fans, the voices are the same as they were back in the past. The characters still have their own sense of humor and style.

The story takes about 8-9 hours to complete when you look for the artifacts that are hidden in each levels. Each of them will give you cash to buy upgrades for your guns to chase the large variety of ghosts that you will encounter throughout the 7 levels of the game. There is plenty of them and few of them are merchandise that was sold at the time that the movie was out. This is always nice to see again and remember which one you owned. You will have way enough money to buy everything you can in the game while being at the level 6 or 7. So, do not be upset if you missed some.

I personally chose to play with my controller and it worked quite well. You will choose from your 4 types of weapons with the keypad, and will be able to use them with your 2 triggers, which make a total of 8 weapons. When changing weapons, the response might be slow, so when you are in a hurry to change it, that might be a little painful. Other than that, no major issue.

The main problem is that you will find yourself most of the time reviving your teammates because they are down. They will fall around 5 times when you will fall only once. When fighting small ghosts, that is not a big issue, but when you are fighting a boss, you will have to find how to beat it while rescuing your partners. That makes it a lot harder. Fighting ghosts also gets repetitive after a certain time. Thanks to the wide variety of them, so at least, that keeps the user in the game. The bosses are so huge and the fights are just epics.

Graphics start to get old by now, but they are still acceptable. However, cutscenes look older.

Note that there is no multiplayer in this game.

For the nostalgics, I would highly recommend this game. It worths every 10 bucks that it costs on Steam, or at least a rental. Do not buy the newest Sanctum of slime, go with Ghostbusters The Video Game even if it is older.
