This is one of those games that goes under-appreciated...AM2 really killed it when it came out to the WII

User Rating: 7.5 | Ghost Squad ARC
Sega is famous for making shooters and predominate at the arcades and midways. Unless you have been living under a rock, you'd make note of this next time you are at Dave and Buster's, Gameworks, or that horrible place with a mouse for a mascot that I will NOT mention.

I'm a Midway tech, my duty is to keep arcade games up and running. I get to play these games quite a bit, but I haven't reviewed ANY of them. On a daily basis, I am asked what games I enjoy the most, so I have recently started to do reviews on them. You are now going to read up on what I think about Ghost Squad.

The storyline in this one is that you are now a member of a Global Humanitarian Operation and Special Tactics Squad, hence the name Ghost Squad. The importance of this squad in this game is comparable as to being a member of SWAT, but you are to fight and battle terrorists. You move in, leave no traces behind and move on.

The cool thing about this game is you play it with a composite military assault rifle. In game, you have your choice of roughly 20-25 firearms, each one has its pro's and con's of course. Not only do you get a variety of firearms, but you also get to choose who and what your character is.

Gameplay: This is far better than a lot of SEGA games out there. Although this game is extremely short it offers a LOT of more enjoyment when compared to House of the Dead series. HOD is by far one of the worst created and worst reviewed games at our arcade/midway. Ghost Squad however, is played at least twice as much per day and nearly 4 times as much on the weekend. Please note that HOD4 came out in 06 and Ghost Squad in 04. It goes to show that better gameplay gets the win

SOUND: sound is pretty good. It can be repetitive but keep in mind, its an arcade game. There is a lot of communications going on while you are "walking" around and moving onward with your missions. When compared to HOD4, the scripting in this game is golden.

Overall, its one heck of an arcade game. It has plenty of drawbacks, but its a fast paced shoot 'em up game. It has graphics you'd expect in a 90's arcade game but it makes up for it with the entertainment you get out of this.

If you are lucky to see this one in the midway, give it a shot!
