A decent 2d platformer that spawned 2 playstation sequels

User Rating: 6.6 | Gex 3DO
Gex is a decent little platformer featuring dana gould as a wisecracking TV addicted gecko who gets sucked into his television. You play through 4 themed worlds each with a few levels and a boss and a final 5th world where you tackle the lord of tvland. It hasn't exaclty aged superbly with the resurgence of some pretty good 2d games on the DS and PSP but it's worth playing if you can find a copy. The game was also available on the PS1 and saturn, I've never played those versions but I think it's safe to assume they'd be easier to come across. Gameplay here is standard platformer stuff, you walk/run/jump through platforming based stages collecting widgets - in this case flies- and fight a pattern based boss after every few levels. Music does an adequete job and Dana goulds comments can be amusing but unfortunatly like the latter games in the series they grow old fast. Still , check it out on the cheap if you want to play an older platformer that you may have missed.
