Once again, I'm not sure about what Gamespot is thinking, but this was one of the best platformers on PSX

User Rating: 8 | Gex 3D: Enter the Gecko PS
This was one of those games whose release was long awaited by me and it didn't disappoint. The difficultly level was just way higher than I thought it would be. I will agree with Gamespot on one thing...the camera angles did make the game a burden to play some times but it wasn't a deal breaker. While many of the levels were creative and fun to play, others were just simply a pain in the @ss. The majority of Gex's catchphrases were pretty funny the first couple of times that you hear them (especially if you're good with pop culture) but after awhile they can get redundant and annoying if you find yourself on the losing end. The boss battles are pretty awesome...my favorite being the MechaRez fight!

My Breakdown:

What's Good:

- The graphics for its time
- Seeing what form Gex'll take on based on the level he's in
- Some of the catchphrases are hilarious
- Boss battles
- How the levels parody different tv shows and movies

What's Not-So-Good:

- The redundancy of Gex's cataphases
- The story (then again the game does not take itself seriously at all)

What's Bad:

- The camera
- The difficulty

In all, Gex was fun to play for the most part, if one has the patience to endure the ocassion camera issues and overly repeated catchphrases. To get the most out of the game, I'd recommend using the level select cheat code if you get stuck.
