Gex and Gex 2 were favorites of mine on PlayStation sampler discs back in the late 1990s. Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko is the final game in the series. Now if there is something new Gex 3, it's the entire theme. The first two Gex games had it's cartoony humor, but this title has more of a spy movie theme or a crime theme of sorts.

The levels are open ended, but they get hard and confusing at points. The graphics are slightly better than the first two games. Game play is just like the first two. Some of the levels are innovative. Once again, it still has cartoony and absurd humor. Some levels are pretty funny, like the snowy level at the beginning. The sounds are just the first games, but the music loops and gets a little annoying at times. Overall, it's a worthy PlayStation title that Gex fans should enjoy, and PlayStation owners should give a try.

  Gex 3 is a great platformer that is chock full of variety, humor, and flat-out fun. It is under appreciated to be sure.
