Clear Dimentions

There is always something about my love for shumps especially some from yesteryear that I don't think I can ever explain or ever truly know. May'be it's just the sheer simplistic nature of them where it's never so much about thinking but doing.

This game is one of my favorate shumps in the subgenere, it's another sequel to the Geomentry Wars franchise and to me I personally think it's the best because there is a lot more to do and the change to 3D I thought was a welcome one, it's a bit similar to the shump Super Stardust Memory for the PS3 which is another story.

Not a lot to say, the graphical presentation is great I like the sprites which all look like the kind of sprites you see in those yesteryear arcade shumps like Tempest, Omega Race, you name it. Espesically the formats for each of the levels which always change and are also remoncient of those arcade yesteryear shumps. The music I think is very good and kinda catchy.

I really love how they utilize the 3D effect, mainly for the arenas they construct which are each unique and I feel help in providing to the unique chalanges. And that's is one of the best things about the game each of the stages and levels you go though all have a different shooting chalange where it's not just about surrving without dying once because that would either end the chalange or slow you down for mere seconds; and your going to need every second you can get in order to rack up enough points so you can move on to the next change or unlock the next level. And it gets pretty challenging as you go more and more forward, which is where the preserverence factor comes in and I really like that because that was always one of the best things about those yesteryear shumps is that they always taught you to practice and work hard to achieve what you have to, it's a rewarding feeling because you know it's your skill alone that gets you through.

The gameplay is great it's the simple kind where it's the double joystick control, you move with one and shoot with the other. But what I also like is the edition of the RPG element where as you collect enough points you can buy weapons and items you need as well as upgrade them to make them stronger. This isn't anything real special but I always like this feature in shumps, it gives it a strategic value. But most importantly playing this game just felt plan great because it really gave that slight nostalgic kick like I was playing another yesteryear shump in the arcades which is what the whole game/series pays tribute to, and just the simplistic nature of just blowing away everything in your path without a care in the world.

Overall this is a great shump, if your a fan or newcomer of the subgenere and if you also really have a love for the retro shumps then this game is a good target worth shooting for. The dimentions on this game are crystal clear.
