Gorgerous graphics and quite the cool and dynamic gameplay.

Amahagane, shiny crystal orbs containing power are highly wanted by warlords and normal people in the ancient Japan. The amahagane allows it's bearer to possess the power of Kamui, a power which allows one to slay your enemies with a single slash. The Heishi clan possess much power and amahagane and their leader seeks immortality. He thinks he can gain eternal life by fusing all the amahagane together. Yet there are god people inm Japan who puts the amahagane for good deeds. Like the young swordsman **** and a brute of a monk, Benkei.

The story is pretty basic, try to kill the evil shogun and give the people back their peaceful lives. Nothing really special though, a plain and simple story which is easy to keep track on.

You first start with **** and Benkei will join you later on. You're free to choose whom you want to play as but some places you have to switch. **** ain't strong enough to knock down heavy doors and so on, but Benkei can. Benkei can't run fast nor jump really high, in general you'll have a slight easier time with **** because of his agility and high jumping.

Graphics are simply gorgeous! The enviroment is highly detailed, colourful and pretty smooth. Colours are mainly bright and shiny at day, dark and a little creepy by night. Not only the enviroment is packed with details, but many of the characters too. Their costumes are incredibly detailed and darn well done. Despite the heavy looking enviroment, loading doesn't take much time and everything plays along smoothly. Please, a dacapo for the 3D staff. Amazing work folks.

The fights are usualy the same as other action slashing games, but the "Kamui mode" allows you to "challange" your opponent. While in the Kamui mode things will act in slow motion and when the time is right, you'll have to press the square button and deal great damage! If you miss you're the one getting a beating. You can challange many enemies at once and they'll attack you oneby one or everyone jumps on you, but if you have the timing and accuracy, you can kill them all in one graceful move. Pretty cool. You can also use the Kamui in boss fights, it'll be a little more tricky thouhg. The Kamui can only be used when your "Kamui bar" is fully charged, to use Kamui you simply press R1 and have fun.

The backround music ain't too impressive. Plain and simple "ancient Japan" sounding tunes here and there. Well, it suits the settings just fine, but nothing too special about it. Ok music for an ok game.

Suddenly, after all the flashy moves and neat FMVs the game is over. It won't take much more than 4-5 hours completing the game, which is kind of sad. I felt like the game only started then, but no...! On the other hand it was enough, the game becomes a little repetetive, even while switching characters. After beating it you can re-play in a new mode and unlock some character arts storyboards and stuff like that.

Genji has a good gameplay and is overall quite decent, a game everyone should try if they want to. =)
