Halo killer? No. Fun addicting game? Hell yes!

User Rating: 9.3 | Gears of War X360
I must say this has to be the most hyped game of the year. IMO i think the hype may have been the result of the high scores, so heres my un-biased opinon.

Gameplay- Solid controls. Im not a big fan of how the screen shakes while your running, but it does add some atmosphere and realism.

Graphics- Easily the best looking game on the 360. However alot of the environments are the same and get a bit repetitive. I would of liked to see a bigger variety of colors in the game.

Sound- Dark, eerie sounds and music compliment the game well. The voice acting is done superbly. I see no room or need for improvement here.

Value- Started off a little slow, but i found the longer i played, it just got more and more enjoyable. Tons of replay value with Xbox live, and the single player is quite difficult on the "insane" setting. Worth every penny.

Tilt- Never fully understood what this means :P

Halo killer- I wouldnt say this game is as good as Halo. Or even very close to. Halo is just way to deep and huge with tons of options. I dont see it being dethroned any time soon. Its just too damn good!

I would of liked to have seen a bit more depth to this game. It is very linear and the only secrets you find are the locations of Cog tags. Which are not really worth the reward considering you only get 3 achievements from them.
I would of also liked to see a wider variety of weapons with maybe secondary firing options. Even though the chainsaw offers one of the most rewarding kills of any shooter to date. Especially when used on your friends. The real fun to this title is playing online. I only played 1 level by myself before going co-op. Its better than split screen and thiers enough challenge to keep busy for hours. What the game lacks in originality and some other minor flaws, it makes up for in pure fun. Give it a chance, keep playing, and youll be hooked! So forget what you heard, this is the whole truth about Gears of War.
