one of the best games of 2008, and a perfection over the original.

gears of war 1, was the best game of 2006 no questions asked, it gave a nice variety of weapons, great graphics, a slick cover system, a cross between FPS and 3rd Person shooter gameplay, stop and pop mechanics, great characters and enemies and fun but easy bosses.

well Gears 2 is better than the first in every way, the graphics are some of the best ever to be seen in a game from 2008, the weapons are back and there are some great additions like the chaingun and the mortar, the story is actually 10X better than the first complete with a lot more characterisation, plot twists, and info on why the locust are here and what there master plan is to whipe the humans of Sara, and Cole makes me ROFL, plus the Brumak only made one appearance in the first at the end of act 4 in gears 1 where you had to run to the car before the brumak crushes it, the brumaks pops up all the time and yes you can kill them, and at the end you can even ride one.
the cover system fells a lot more slick in this one and you can stop cover traversal mid move, also you will travel to some beautiful locations like forests, snowy mountains, underground caves, and the inside of the locust stronghold instead of all those buildings that are around you in the first game, plus WHO HERE HATES THE CHAINSAW BAYONETT??? because whoever does hate it is probably someone who hates the sight of blood which is a shame for those people because i love chainsaws VVVVRROOOOOOOMMM. and you can now use downed enemies as meat shields and you can let them get holes shot through them until they are rendered useless or just snap their neck and drop them, plus there is one driving sequence but its controls are similar to that in Halo but those controls are terrible therefore the controls in this driving sequence are terrible, but that is the only bad thing, plus there are other sequences like a horror themed corridor shooter section, a flying sequence and some great bosses.

this game is what a sequel should be, if you love the first game this is probably your favourite XBOX 360 game if you thought the only bad thing about the first game was the story and/or the fact that it was short than this sequel will redeem the hunger you have for both the story and length you MUST get this game.
