The sequel may have brung broken online, but the game is still great
Like the first game, you continue the story of the Gears, an elite team of soldiers designed to try and drive back the threat of the locust, a force of seemingly unstoppable numbers varying from human like size to freakish monstrosities, the part that makes Gears truly great is that humanity is seemingly outnumbered on Earth and are fighting a losing battle, making your interest in the people of the gears universe that little bit more involved and heartfelt at the many different plot threads that unfold as the story continues.
It was a little unfortunate however that the online was broken on launch and took a while to get right, but even that is good now and modes like "the horde" are great hold out as long as you can with friends/strangers online or off, increasing the difficulty after you have survived each wave of enemies.
The graphics whilst not as "wow" as they once was still deliver, and the epic sense of scale on some of the monsters (even being inside of one) is truly something to behold, all in all adding up to one of the best action games this generation, and will no doubt be remembered as a classic for many years to come.
