There may not be much substance to this game, but anyone who wants a decent hack n slash game may find it here.

Gauntlet. Any gamer worth their salt has spent several hours on the coin ops traversing seemingly endless levels of dungeons. I am very much a fan, and truly enjoyed this game. Gauntlet is very much like the old school versions in that your mission is to slash your way through waves of monsters in order to find an exit, with an endless supply of weaponry. The difference here is that you do have some special attacks, as well as some plot advancing items you must retrieve on each level.

That is what must be made clear. This game is outstanding if you are either a) a fan of the old Gauntlet or b) wishing for a simplistic hack and slash game. If you purchase this game under the premise that it is an RPG, then you will be disappointed. If you want a great RPG, many detailed ones may be found for your computer. If you want a serviceable RPG for this console, may I suggest Champions of Norrath? The controls are simple (I finished Gauntlet with my 5 yr old son, who excelled), it is pure action the entire way, and I have no problems recommending this game to its fan base.

The sound and graphics are adequate, and there are enough playable characters that make it worthwhile to try to finish the game multiple times. This game is particularly fun as a multiplayer.
